There were 12 multiracial students enrolled in Armstrong County school in the 2022-23 school year, 7.7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Armstrong County welcomed 328 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 3.7% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the county.

Claude Schools was the only school in the county which enrolled multiracial students, welcoming 328 in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

“The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students…dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools…gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
