Bushland ISD welcomed 1,550 students in 2021-22 school year

There were 1,550 students enrolled in Bushland ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 7% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.5% of them were boys, and 49.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 77% of the Bushland ISD total enrollment.

Bushland ISD roughly covers schools within Potter County with its main office in Bushland.

Among the three schools in Bushland ISD, Bushland Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 541 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
