Friday, Sept. 1

Coffee and Cuties
Storytime for kids under 5 will be followed by an exciting craft or animal experience. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join in on the fun or watch from the comfortable seating area and enjoy a cup of coffee from our coffee bar. The overall theme is Jurassic Juniors. There are two Coffee and Cuties sessions to choose from at 9:45 and 11:45 a.m. This event will be held at the Don Harrington Discovery Center, located at 1200 Streit Drive.


Uncle Lucius
Uncle Lucius will perform at Starlight Ranch with special guests Ryan Culwell and Alicia Morgan. This performance will take place in the new Moon Palace venue. Following a hiatus of five years, the band will perform on select stages all around the country, bringing their soulful, joyful, and thunderous sound. This show will be a reunion, so don't miss it. The performance will begin at 8 p.m. Starlight Ranch is located at 1415 Sunrise Drive.

Saturday, Sept. 2

Dunn & Brooks (Brooks & Dunn tribute band)

Dunn & Brooks is a band from Dallas that pays homage to Brooks & Dunn through their musical performances. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn became a dynamic combo in country music in 1989. Tommy Gallagher will be the opening act. Shark Beach is Amarillo's only beach, so come out and enjoy this band under the open sky. You can get a drink at the outside bar and put your toes in the sand. The performance will run from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Shark Beach is located at 1505 E. FM 1151.


Kolton Moore & The Clever Few
Kolton Moore & The Clever Few will perform live at the Starlight Ranch's Moon Palace. Noah Bowman will make a special guest appearance. In addition to mini golf, fantastic new vendors, and boutiques, the Moon Palace offers this live music performance starting at 6 p.m.


Sunday, Sept. 3
Def Leggend (Def Leppard tribute band)

Def Leggend is a band from north Texas that pays homage to the band Def Leppard through their musical performances. Def Leggend is often regarded as the group that pays the most faithful tribute to Def Leppard. They offer a visual and aural experience that is incomparable. Boss 420 is scheduled to perform as the opening act but that could change at any time. This show at Shark Beach will run from 7:30 to 11 p.m.


Monday, Sept. 4

Girls Who Science

Girls Who Science will be held at Don Harrington Discovery Center from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. Girls between the ages of 10 and 18 will participate in hands-on experiments, hear from women working in STEM fields, and explore STEM-related activities geared toward careers. The fields of medicine, engineering, computer programming, biology, and animal sciences are a few of the many topics that will be discussed throughout each month's program. Admission to this event is free.

Labor Day Camp

This is how the scientific method works! Campers will learn at their own pace with a curriculum based on science and instructors who are highly educated. Get your young students ready for an action-packed day filled with thrilling experiments and activities. The exhibits will promote exciting interactions that will make students excited to share what they've learned. The pre-K camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and the kindergarten to fourth-grade camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Access to both pre-care and after-care services is provided for $10. 

Thursday, Sept. 7

Teacher Resource Fair – Wind Down and Power Up!

Teachers are encouraged to stop by the Don Harrington Discovery Center to find out more about the resources available there and at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, located at 2301 N. Soncy Road. Teachers will leave the resource fair feeling energized and prepared to take on the school year thanks to many TEKS-aligned education activities, outreaches, virtual learning, and on-campus programs that will be offered. Teachers and other school staff are welcome to drop by with their students beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be free snacks, drinks, and prizes, as well as a supervised play area for the kids. 


Friday, Sept. 8

Discover for a Dollar

You can learn about the wonders of nature and science for just $1. Spend a fun-filled evening at the Don Harrington Discovery Center, where you can see presentations in the Space Theater, observe live science displays, and interact with various animals. Admission is free for DHDC members.

Toddler Tracks

The Wildcat Bluff Nature Center will host Toddler Tracks at 9 a.m. Explorers aged 5 and younger, accompanied by an adult, are welcome to participate in the Toddler Tracks program. There will be a nature-themed storytime at Wildcat Bluff. Participants will make a craft or participate in a hands-on activity and go on a nature walk at Libb's Trail. The theme of the event is "an afternoon spent at the beach." Dress appropriately for the weather and bring a bottle of water with you; we go on our nature walk regardless of the weather, even though rain tends to cut our time out there a bit shorter. 

Saturday, Sept. 9

Hiking 101
The Wildcat Bluff Nature Center will offer a beginner's guide to hiking from 9 to 11 a.m. This is the most exciting hiking experience possible for trekkers just starting out! The fundamentals of hiking will be taught. Find out what to anticipate on the trails, what to bring on treks, what to avoid, and much more. Discover your passion for the great outdoors through this event.

Passionate Music

An evening of intimate chamber music by Clyne, Strauss, and Faure will be presented at Sharpened Iron Studios from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The concert will feature performances by violinist Espen Lilleslatten, violist Vesselin Todorov, cellist Sally Guenther, and pianist Elean Lacheva. Sharpened Iron Studios is located at 1314 S. Polk St.


Saturday, Sept. 16

Blaze of Glory (Bon Jovi tribute band)

Blaze of Glory is a Dallas band paying homage to Bon Jovi. This is a fantastic recreation of a real Bon Jovi show. The members' resemblance to the original band members is so striking that they were chosen to perform on AXS TV's live broadcast of "World's Greatest Tribute Bands," and they beat every other Bon Jovi tribute band in North America. They have since headlined the California State Fair and taken their show overseas to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, as part of the Miller Lite Experience. Broken Echo will kick off the show, which will run from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Echoes of the Past

Join the resident archaeologist at Wildcat Bluff Nature Center for a trip through time. You can educate yourself about the past of both our globe and the Texas Panhandle. With the help of Echoes of the Past, you can locate your position in the annals of Earth's history. The event starts at 10 a.m.

Prairie Palooza

Palo Duro Canyon State Park is the perfect place to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Texas state parks. A presentation on 100 years of collaborations will be shown. There will be a wide variety of vendors and booths for attendees to peruse, offered by both the personnel of Palo Duro Canyon State Park and their partners. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Palo Duro Canyon State Park is located in Canyon, Texas.


Saturday, Sept. 30

Winds of Change

Winds of Change, presented by Chamber Music Amarillo, will be held at Amtech Career Academy from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. This concert will feature Larry Lang, the Amarillo Symphony's executive director, and the Amarillo Virtuosi Wind Ensemble. Join CMA for an evening of sonorous music by Strauss, Dvorak, Stravinsky, and Kurka. The Amtech Career Academy is located at 3601 Plains Blvd.
