WASHINGTON – On May 25, Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) released the following statement demanding that Secretary Blinken immediately release the State Department’s July 2021 Dissent Channel cable on the Afghanistan withdrawal to every Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Jackson said: “It’s been almost two years since Joe Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal, and it’s past due for my colleagues and me to review the confidential dissent cable which proves the Biden administration was warned about what would go wrong when they executed their politically motivated withdrawal that cost American lives. Unfortunately, Secretary Antony Blinken has refused to share the cable or his response with every Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, preventing us from conducting oversight – our duty. There is no such thing as integrity or accountability in how the Biden Administration executed the Afghanistan withdrawal. Ready or not, it’s time to turn over the dissent cable. If the State Department continues to prevent the entire committee from viewing the Dissent Channel cable, then I would fully support Chairman McCaul’s efforts to enforce the Committee’s subpoena.”
