Today, Congressman Ronny Jackson from Texas reintroduced a legislative measure known as the Uncovering UNRWA's Terrorist Crimes Act. This proposed legislation aims to formalize an executive order previously signed by former President Trump, which halted all federal funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Additionally, it mandates a report from the U.S. State Department detailing any funding provided to UNRWA during the current Biden-Harris administration.

In his statement, Rep. Jackson asserted that "UNRWA completely forfeited its credibility when they employed the very terrorists who participated in perpetrating the October 7th attacks." He emphasized the need to "eliminate all federal funding used to prop up Hamas and expose the exact amount of taxpayer dollars that were sent to support this terrorist entity under the Biden-Harris administration." Jackson praised President Trump as "the most pro-Israel President in history," citing Trump's early decision to cut off all funding to UNRWA. He expressed pride in working with Trump against what he perceives as misuse of foreign aid and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring Israel's safety and security.

The text of this bill is available for public viewing.

This legislative initiative is supported by Representatives Jim Baird from Indiana, Abe Hamadeh from Arizona, Keith Self from Texas, Beth Van Duyne from Texas, and Randy Weber also from Texas.
