Congressman Ronny Jackson has reintroduced the No User Fees for Gun Owners Act, aiming to prevent state or local governments from imposing additional charges on gun owners. The legislation targets insurance, taxes, user fees, or similar expenses as conditions for owning firearms.

Rep. Jackson stated, "The radical Left has been trying to chip away at our Constitutional rights for years, particularly the right to bear arms." He emphasized the importance of defending the Second Amendment and expressed his intent to protect Americans' rights under a Republican-controlled Congress.

The bill responds to measures like those in San Jose in 2022, which required gun owners to pay annual fees and obtain liability insurance. Jackson's proposal seeks to prevent such requirements nationwide.

The National Rifle Association has endorsed the bill.
