WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13) announced that five students from Texas’ 13th Congressional District received official appointments to U.S. Service Academies.
As a Member of Congress, Jackson can nominate students from TX-13 for appointments to the United States Air Force, Naval, Military (West Point), and Merchant Marine Academies.
Jackson stated: "Congratulations to these five outstanding students who chose to embark on the noble calling of service to our great nation. By committing themselves to a cause far greater than their own, they have made their families, communities, and nation immensely proud. I thank them for their selflessness and look forward to seeing what great things these five students will go on to accomplish at their respective service academies."
Nicholas Hogan, from Denton High School, received an official appointment to the United States Naval Academy. He is the son of Patrick and Natalia Hogan.
Kaden Tong, from John H. Guyer High School, received an official appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. He is the son of Anthony and Raviwan Tong.
Harleigh Garrett, from U.S. Air Force Prep School, received an official appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. She is the daughter of Robert and Jessica Garrett.
Coleby McCurdy, from West Plains High School, received an official appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is the son of Dale and Michele McCurdy.
Jayme Santasiero, from Cypress Creek High School, received an official appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. She is the daughter of James and Natalie Santasiero.
