Amarillo City Transit (ACT) is increasing free services provided to both Amarillo College and the Amarillo community.

ACT is granting free transportation for residents who are receiving a COVID-19 test from the Amarillo Public Health Department. Additionally, ACT is allowing free services for all customers through the end of September.

“Amarillo City Transit is excited to extend its partnership with Amarillo College," ACT Director Marita Wellage-Reiley said. "Hopefully, this partnership will make it more convenient for students and staff and increase opportunities for higher education in Amarillo. Amarillo City Transit is also looking forward to helping prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Amarillo because testing is an extremely important tool in preventing the spread of this illness. Increasing public access to this testing is a valuable tool for the entire community.”

To get more information on eligibility, residents are urged to call 806-378-6300. Residents can also call ACT at 806-378-3095 to make transportation arrangements.
