AMARILLO, COLLEGE: Initial meetings for all classes this fall will be conducted online

Onlinelearn

Amarillo, College issued the following announcement on Aug.

The very first meetings of all classes this fall at Amarillo College will be conducted online, a strategy aimed at ensuring a safe and successful return to in-person classes.

All fall classes, whether they are scheduled to be delivered in person or through remote technology, will meet remotely on either Monday, Aug. 24 or Tuesday, Aug. 25 – whichever day the initial class meeting is scheduled to take place.

At that time, instructors will provide specific instructions regarding subsequent class meetings.

Students registered for the fall semester can prepare for their first day of classes by logging in to AC Connect at acconnect.actx.edu and connecting to Blackboard, the learning management system, to make sure they can locate classes and review schedules.

During the first meeting of every class this fall, at the appropriately appointed time, students should connect to Blackboard and participate according to the instructions indicated. Following these remotely conducted first class meetings, in-person classes will commence.

Assistance logging in or connecting is available through the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL); just call (806) 371-5992. Or, a video containing instructions for logging in is available at info.actx.edu/blackboard.

Students with insufficient technology can access computers in the Underground, the computer center in the basement of the Ware Student Commons on the Washington Street Campus.

While AC will resume in-person classes this fall, the College will continue to be informed by local, state, and national governmental and public health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control.

Everyone on all AC campuses will be required to wear face coverings. View the policy here.

For additional assistance of any kind, students can contact AskAC at (806) 371-5000 or AskAC@actx.edu.
