City of Canyon issued the following announcement on Aug. 13
August 13th, the City of Canyon was informed by Amarillo Public Health that there has been a total of 224 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Canyon with 66 cases active, 156 recovered, and 2 deaths. These numbers are for all of those in the Canyon zip code (79015) and not just Canyon proper. Due to sensitive information the City of Canyon is not provided with details on any cases. Amarillo Public Health professionals with extensive training conduct contact investigations. Once the investigation is complete, individuals who spent time with an infected individual are contacted.
The City of Canyon is following the Orders as put in place by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
