City of Canyon issued the following announcement on July 27
July 27th, the City of Canyon was informed by Amarillo Area Public Health that there has been a total of 161 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Canyon with 62 cases active, 98 recovered, and 1 death. These numbers are for all of those in the Canyon zip code (79015) and not just Canyon proper. Due to sensitive information the City of Canyon is not provided with details on any cases. Amarillo Public Health professionals with extensive training conduct contact investigations. Once the investigation is complete, individuals who spent time with an infected individual are contacted.
