City of Killeen issued the following announcement on July 17

Water infrastructure improvements will continue next week in north Killeen. The following lane closures will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 20 through 24.

• W. Dean Avenue, from Garth Drive to Walton Walker Road
• Garth Drive, from W. Dean Avenue to Valley Road
• Williamson Drive, from Hillcrest Drive to Fairview Drive
• College Street and W. Dean Drive intersection

Each area will keep one lane open to through traffic during work hours, and all lanes will be reopened after work hours. Traffic will be detoured around the worksites, and motorists are asked to use caution and obey traffic control devices.

These closures are for the Waterline Rehab Phase 3 project, which will replace 3.5 miles of aged and undersized waterlines and associated fire hydrants in northwest Killeen. Crews must enter the roadway to complete the work.

The City of Killeen apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of this work and appreciates your cooperation as we improve this water infrastructure.
