City of Amarillo Texas issued the following announcement on June 18
City of Amarillo (COA) paid parking and timed parking requirements resume July 6.
COA temporarily suspended the requirements for on-street, paid parking and timed-parking on March 19 due to COVID-19 concerns.
COA implemented a paid downtown parking program with ParkMobile in March 2019. ParkMobile uses a cloud-based pay-by-phone system provider for downtown parking. ParkMobile allows individuals to pay for downtown parking from their mobile device. The ParkMobile app is free to download and available for both iPhone and Android devices. Call 1-877-727-5953 to pay through an automated system.
Paid downtown parking is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.The required fee is $1 per hour. The paid parking boundary is from S.E. Third Ave. to the north; S. Johnson Street to the east; S.E. 10th to the south and S. Taylor to the west (between Fourth Ave. and Ninth Ave.)
Paid parking requirements do not apply to motorists with certain state license plates/placards, including handicapped/disabled and disabled veterans.
