Enrollment Analysis: multiracial students comprised 3.1% of River Road ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 40 multiracial students enrolled in River Road ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that River Road ISD schools welcomed 1,297 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 3.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

River Road ISD roughly covers schools within Potter County and has a main office in Amarillo.

Among the four schools in River Road ISD schools, River Road Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 13 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
