AMARILLO COLLEGE: Bookstore offers discount and free shipping for textbooks ordered online

Bookstore

Amarillo College issued the following announcement on Aug. 5

The Amarillo College Bookstore will experience a pronounced uptick in activity between now and the first day of fall classes – it’s an August tradition – as like-minded students clamor to obtain the textbooks they need.

Fortunately, the Bookstore already has a plan in place that is intended to safeguard and streamline the textbook-procurement experience.

Not only will in-person hours be extended in the two weeks leading up to the start of fall classes (on Aug. 24), but a 10-percent discount is being extended on all textbooks ordered online – and free shipping is part of the deal.

“We’re offering a 10-percent discount as an incentive to order textbooks online because it will help lessen the crowds at the store, both keeping everyone safer and making our in-person services more efficient,” said Andrew Flores, manager.

“Plus, it's totally convenient. You can actually get the textbooks you need without having to get off your couch or even put on shoes,” he said. “A 10-percent discount and free shipping is a nice bonus, too.”

Additionally, all students who purchase textbooks, whether in person or online, will receive a complimentary facemask and two-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer, along with a copy of AC’s facemask policy for the fall semester. The top-quality facemasks have adjustable straps and are washable.

To order textbooks online, visit the Bookstore at www.bookstore.actx.edu/.

Meanwhile, in-person hours at the AC Bookstore will be from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, from Aug. 10 through Aug. 28. The Bookstore also will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 for the Badger Book Bash, a last opportunity to pick up necessaries before the first class day on Aug. 24.
