Ronny Jackson, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 13th district, recently shared several legislative updates via social media. These updates highlight significant developments in agriculture, law enforcement protection, and concealed carry rights for officers.
On May 15, 2025, Jackson announced the passage of a major component of President Trump’s agricultural bill. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee GOP, he expressed pride in delivering what he described as “HUGE WINS” for agricultural producers. The bill aims to make strategic investments by updating reference prices, expanding crop insurance, and increasing funding for animal-related initiatives. “As a member of @HouseAgGOP I’m proud to announce we just passed a MAJOR piece of President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill—delivering HUGE WINS for our ag producers.”
Later that day, Jackson reported on the successful passage of H.R. 2240. This legislation addresses threats and attacks on law enforcement officers with increased seriousness. It ensures better information about targeted attacks against officers and improves crime data systems while assessing mental health resources available to them. Jackson emphasized the necessity of protecting law enforcement personnel through these measures: “H.R. 2240 just PASSED to FINALLY treat threats and attacks on our law enforcement officers SERIOUSLY!”
On May 16, 2025, Jackson highlighted another legislative achievement concerning concealed carry rights for law enforcement officers. The House GOP passed a bill aimed at removing regulations that limit these rights whether officers are on duty or off duty. He noted that these individuals consistently protect communities and have earned the right to carry firearms: “Today, the @HouseGOP passed a bill to REMOVE regulations limiting concealed carry rights for law enforcement officers.”
Ronny Jackson has served in Congress since replacing Mac Thornberry in 2021 and continues to represent Texas’ 13th District.
