Congressman Ronny Jackson, who represents Texas’ 13th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, has introduced a bill calling for the relocation of the United Nations headquarters from New York City. The legislation instructs the Secretary of State to create a strategy to move the UN headquarters to another city that aligns with what Jackson described as “President Trump’s standard of national security, economic responsibility, and the principles of American strength.”
Jackson stated, “New York City has embraced radical, anti-American policies that make its streets unsafe, drive-up costs, and undermine the values this nation stands for, and it is no longer the place to showcase America’s greatest attributes to the world.” He added, “Under President Trump, American strength is back on full display, and when we host the United Nations, it must be in a city that reflects our security, prosperity, and exceptionalism.”
Representatives Jim Baird (IN-04) and Darrell Issa (CA-48) are listed as cosponsors of the bill.
Ronny Jackson began serving in Congress in 2021 after succeeding Mac Thornberry. In recent elections, he won against Kathleen Brow in 2022 with more than 75% of the vote and defeated Gus Trujillo in 2020 with nearly 80% support.
