Today, Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) highlighted significant achievements for Texas during the House Armed Services Committee’s markup of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026. The legislation was passed with a strong vote of 55-2 and is expected to be reviewed on the House floor soon.
“Today, the House Armed Services Committee advanced the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026,” said Rep. Ronny Jackson. “I’m proud to have secured major wins and investments for Texas’ Thirteenth Congressional District, including support for Pantex, Bell Helicopter, Sheppard Air Force Base, and more.”
Chairman Mike Rogers praised Rep. Jackson’s leadership: “Chairman Ronny Jackson is leading the charge to ensure America’s special operations forces and intelligence community stay ahead of our adversaries.”
The FY26 NDAA focuses on increasing recruitment, expanding training opportunities, prioritizing innovative capabilities, improving Servicemembers’ Quality of Life, modernizing weapons systems, and reforming acquisition processes.
In Amarillo, efforts include modernizing aircraft fleets and advancing warhead assembly at Pantex Plant. In Wichita Falls and Sheppard Air Force Base, initiatives include establishing a Technical Training Center of Excellence and upgrading logistics training.
Special Operational Forces will benefit from rapid acquisition authority and enhanced digital force protection programs. Military readiness measures involve prohibiting funding to certain universities over antisemitic issues and advancing counter-drone technologies.
Servicemember healthcare initiatives include a new brain research program addressing traumatic brain injuries among servicemembers.
